Chaga mushroom strain (Inonotus obliquus) - best quality, fresh, mushroom mycelium spawn

Chaga (Inonotus Obliquus) is parasitic, mainly on birch. The conk is irregularly formed and has the appearance of burnt charcoal. It is not the fruiting body of the fungus, but a sclerotia or mass of mycelium, mostly black because of the presence of massive amounts of melanin. 

Lab produced, Belgian made, top quality, fresh, mycelium strains on sterilized rye grain berries in special sealed mushroom bags.

Once the bag is opened, the spawn must be used and applied to the substrate immediately.

You will receive ready colonized rye grain spawn for inoculation on various fruiting substrates, of your choice.

Your spawn is prepared fresh after ordering to maximize on quality. For this reason it may take between 10 to 14 days to produce.

Ideally the product should be used immediately after delivery, but, keep it stored in the fridge at 4° Celsius for a maximum of two months and it will still be viable - Respect the expiry date on the package.

EDIBILITY

Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) is edible and traditionally consumed, but it's too hard and bitter to eat directly; instead, it's ground or chipped and brewed into a tea or added to beverages for its earthy, slightly vanilla-like flavor and potential health benefits. 

HOW MUCH SPAWN TO BUY

The weight of your mushroom spawn ordered determines its intended use, so:

300g - Used to inoculate a sterilized/pasteurized block of 1.5 Kg

500g - For larger sterilized/pasteurized substrate inoculations of up to 2.5 Kg.

GROWING AND SUBSTRATE

For maximum results it is best that this mushroom is grown indoor within a hydroponics grow room/tent, but a clean area or dark corner where there is a decent amount of humidity, air exchange and constant temperatures could also be used.

A humidifier would help to monitor humidity. Do not put in direct sunlight and watch out for gnats.

You can also check for yourself when the package has been actually sent. Although we always thrive to be at your service, if you choose NOT to take the tracking option, then we cannot guarantee that the package arrives, as this is beyond our control and services.
