Lab produced, Belgian made, top quality, fresh mycelium strains on sterilized rye grain berries in special sealed mushroom bags.

Once the bag is opened, the spawn must be used and applied to the substrate immediately.

You will receive ready colonized rye grain spawn for inoculation on various fruiting substrates, of your choice.

Your spawn is prepared fresh after ordering to maximize on quality. For this reason it may take between 10 to 14 days to produce.

Ideally the product should be used immediately after delivery, but, keep it stored in the fridge at 4° Celsius for a maximum of two months and it will still be viable - Respect the expiry date on the package.

EDIBILITY

The Grey Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a popular and delicious edible mushroom, prized for its mild, slightly sweet flavor, velvety texture, and versatility in cooking, often used in Asian dishes, soups, and as a meat substitute.

HOW MUCH SPAWN TO BUY

The weight of your mushroom spawn ordered determines its intended use, so:

300g - Used to inoculate a sterilized/pasteurized block of 1.5 Kg

500g - For larger sterilized/pasteurized substrate inoculations of up to 2.5 Kg.

BEST GROWING CONDITIONS FOR GREY/PEARL OYSTER

Substrate: Straw, Hardwood sawdust

Colonization Temperature:  21-24C, 70-75F

Fruiting Temperatures:  15-21C, 60-70F


GROWING AND SUBSTRATE

For maximum results it is best that this mushroom is grown indoor within a hydroponics grow room/tent, but a clean area or dark corner where there is a decent amount of humidity, air exchange and constant temperatures could also be used.

A humidifier would help to monitor humidity. Do not put in direct sunlight and watch out for gnats.
