Mushroom Grow Box for Home Use - Educational Project

With our partners, we have developed and just launched a Mushroom Grow Box, especially designed for the home and mushroom hobbyist.

The most interesting part in mushroom development is actually the fruiting stage. At this stage, all the preparatory work for preparing substrates and making sure they are fully colonized with your preferred mushroom strain, comes to a head, and results in actually seeing mushrooms forming, pinning and growing inside this grow box. Kids love this because it is completely interactive.

Many do not actually experience this - we tend to find mushrooms ready at our store without appreciating how they develop and what work went into them to grow.  This is especially an excellent project to educate and teach children about the mushroom grow cycle, experiencing for themselves each stage of mushroom fruiting and subsequent additional harvests. So, if your child's birthday is coming soon, this could be a perfect gift.

FUNCTIONALITY

This grow box will control most of the environmental conditions that most mushrooms need to be able to fruit and develop successfully, including humidity and air exchange. These parameters can be changed for different mushroom strains as needed. Every species have their preferences and optimal settings to be able to grow consistently.

Another factor which controls growth is timed lighting. The unit comes with three color combinations:

• Blue light
• Red light
• Blue & Red light combined

It is scientifically known that such lighting options promotes different mushroom species accordingly.

The final factor which effects growth is room temperature. Temperature is best controlled within the room where the grow box is situated. The grow box will measure and report on its surrounding room temperature.

CLEAN AIR FLOW

There is a fan configuration and a high-efficiency industry standard filter which introduces fresh air within the box and blocks any air contaminants from the top of the unit.

Air escapes from the sides of the unit via two more filters, to ensure clean air exchange within the unit. These filters will need to be changed eventually, to ensure consistency.

Is this grow box suitable for home use?
Yes, it is designed for the home hobby mycelium producer and mycologist, with a compact footprint and practical growing space.

Is the grow box temperature controlled within the unit?
No, as this is never feasible, since such units are too small. Temperature can only be controlled properly at room level. The unit's temperature would be the same as within the current room.

Does it include LED lighting, humidity and ventilation controls?
Yes, it is the best part of this unit. Such controls are quite accurate, repetitive and consistent.
